About Santé Ouest
Who we are
Santé Ouest is the first francophone community health centre in British Columbia, offering accessible, safe and culturally sensitive health services to francophone patients.
Santé Ouest’s services are offered in both French and English, to better meet the needs of Greater Vancouver’s francophones in their own language. This bilingual approach ensures equitable access to healthcare for the francophone community, while promoting inclusion and respect for patients’ linguistic preferences.
Our interdisciplinary team places a strong emphasis on collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and the impact of the social determinants of health on our patients and the community.
Santé Ouest, the fruit of several years’ work by many key people, opened its doors in autumn 2024. This pioneering project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the British Columbia Ministry of Health and the commitment of the RésoSanté C.-B. team.
Customers registered at Santé Ouest will be able to book appointments with their primary care provider and access services such as:
- Ongoing medical care (family medicine)
- Disease prevention and health promotion
- Acute and chronic disease prevention and management
- Wellness & mental health visits
- Vaccinations and awareness campaigns
- Substance dependence treatment
- Smoking cessation support
- Social services and support groups
- Sexual and reproductive health
- Programs for vulnerable populations
- Specialized clinics
- Family and parental support programs

Our values
Equitable access to healthcare
Our clinic’s ambition is to promote equity of access to French-language healthcare services by reducing language barriers for French-speaking populations. We measure the impact of socio-economic inequalities on the health of individuals and communities, and aim to contribute to the collective effort to improve access to healthcare for the most vulnerable populations.

A community health center (CHC) is a non-profit organization that provides basic health care and health promotion programs adapted to the needs of local communities.
The operation of a community health center is based on several key principles, aimed at providing accessible, patient-centered health care tailored to each individual's specific needs. A team of providers will work with the patient to determine his or her goals of care, and ensure that he or she has access to the services and support he or she needs to achieve his or her health and well-being goals.
No. The Santé Ouest francophone community health center offers bilingual services in French and English. Although the center is open to all, certain groups will be prioritized, notably those without a family doctor or those belonging to vulnerable groups. Health care will be offered in person and virtually, helping to reduce inequalities in access to health care.
